Bi Folding Doors

Before, homeowners had little choice when it came to combining home and garden in one living area.  You could have sliding, folding doors manufactured as a bespoke product but this was extremely expensive.

We introduced our bi folding doors (sometimes referred to as bi fold doors or folding/sliding doors) in 2005 and for the first time ever, homeowners could buy and fit expanding, versatile and highly secure external bi folding doors without paying the earth.  These doors revolutionised external patio doors, providing a unique combination of quality, design, technology and affordability.

With over 25 year’s experience, our sliding, folding doors are designed in the UK and crafted in a specialist, state-of-the-art woodworking factory using the latest hi-tech machinery to maintain a high and consistent standard.  In fact, our high quality bi folding door system combines the detail and workmanship of tailor-made bi folding doors, but at off-the-shelf prices.  Nowadays bi folding doors are widely used in home improvement projects.

Bi folding doors are very practical and allow plenty of light, they bring the outdoors indoors.  Primarily used for larger openings, bi folding doors are the ideal solution.  Usually fitted as the back of a property (patio doors) bi folding doors give access to the outside world which is executed in such a way that once opened the view is clear and undisturbed and when closed they are secure and well insulated.

Bi folding doors work on a track on which they fold.  This track is usually on the top preventing problems that have resulted in the past due to tracks fitted on the bottom. Doors move on this track with the help of the rollers that are made up of heavy duty material and tested for the worst conditions.  External bi folding doors are fitted with double glazed units which not only make it more efficient (low-E glass) but also help in conserving energy.  The double glazed units are filled with argon gas which helps keep heat in when its cold and lets heat escape when the climate is hot.

Bi folding / sliding doors are available in a choice of different timbers, Oak, Mahogany and White painted.  We can deliver and fit if needed, we offer a high quality fitting service and all doors are fully guaranteed against any manufacturing defects. The range comes in five widths in genuine Oak and hardwood, with a three coat finish so that you can fit it straight away.  We also have a three coat finished white hardwood version.  The Oak is also available unfinished if you want to apply your own finish.

Each set includes doors, frame, cill, folding hardware, tracks, locks, handles, frame fixings, lintel fixings, magnetic catches and easy-to-follow fitting and assembly instructions.

We deliver your folding sliding door sets and French Patio door pair sets with a comprehensive, step-by-step instruction booklet to guide you - or your installer - through every step of the installation.

Our internal and external folding sliding doors and French patio doors come virtually fully machined and pre-sized to your specification. The only machining you need to do yourself is to fit the door handles.  The rest is simply a question of assembling the folding sliding doors and frames. But don’t worry, we make this as easy as possible for you, as well.

The track and aluminium cill are pre-fitted to the timber parts of the frame. All you need to do is assemble your door frame using the screws provided.

We pre-drill or clearly mark the holes where the hardware fits. All of the fixings for our external folding sets to secure the frame into the brickwork are provided, as are the fixing screws for securing the door frame head into the steel lintel (for RSJ fixing you will need your own nuts and bolts, or seek advice from a structural engineer). We even send you the correct diameter and length of HSS and masonry drill bits to make sure you’ve got the right sizes, plus the driver bits to fit the screws.
